Best sound card for a Power Mac

What is the best sound card for a Power Mac? is the anything besides the sound blaster sound card that not even a true 4.1+ surround sound PCI card and its not OSX compatible?

does turtle beach offer anything? or are the better sound cards availible?

do I have to go thru a PCI connection or can I do it thru USB or Firewire?

any help would be greatly apriciated
