Best Source for News (UK)?

Hey all,

I got an iPad mini for Christmas and would like to sign up to a good news app.

I currently use BBC News, but was thinking more along the lines of The Independent, The Times or The Guardian. I personally have never read these newspapers (as I mentioned - I mainly used BBC News before).

I'm looking for quality articles which are well-written and accessible. I sometimes find the BBC News articles poorly written which I find annoying. I am looking for daily news as well as standalone articles that are interesting and factual.

What do you use? What do you recommend? I am probably learning towards The Times.

Independent is very variable, Times is more straight factual, Guardian is traditionally left-leaning. I prefer to stick to Google news and then take my pick of the various papers for each story that arrives. But it's not an offline news reader, I agree.

I read the Guardian and the Independent daily, and I think they have a lot of quality stuff. I use the app Feedler Pro to gather them (and other news sources) in one place.

See, I find BBC News variable. I often read articles that are poorly written and have to re-read to try and interpret the proper meaning.

I'm a pretty liberal person - so don't think I would be bothered by The Guardian being left-leaning. When you see The Times is more factual, do you mean more objective and less biased?

Forgot to mention that I am very much interested in business news. I just looked at the subscription prices of The Wall Street Journal and don't think I could justify the expense.

Is The Financial Times an extension of The Times? Would this be possibly included in any subscription I take out?

You could always just start reading them and then see if they're offering what you are after. While they both have a business section, I'm not sure how good they are compared to my specialised papers like FT.

I don't actually read BBC that much online - I listen to BBC radio extensively, but I find their web news services a bit lacking.
