Hey guys! Just looking for a recommendation here, looking for some new speakers for my Macbook Pro.

Requirements:
Must support 5.1 (or better) surround sound (over optical.)
Less than or around $2000 (Australian.)

I'm looking for good clarity at high volumes. At the moment I've got the Logitech Z-5500 set, which are great, but the satellite speaker themselves just aren't really big enough to deal out clear audio at high volumes.

gearslutz?

I'm a KRK fan myself. You are going to need an external controller most likely. $2000AUS seems overkill for just listening pleasure, but to each their own and I'm def. not one to talk.

The road of the audiophile...

You spend $2000 on speakers, and realize your amp is not good enough. You upgrade that, and you realize you could use a much better transport/DAC/source. You upgrade that then you find you need silver cables with better shielding for your IC's.

Head over to Head-fi.org. Ask and yeh shall receive ;)
