This might be a dumb question but I am looking for a good surge protector with multiple outlets, but was wondering what everyone else has....How many joules do you recommend? The most important thing that is hooked up too it will be my 2014 iMac....Looking at the Monoprice ones, but wasn't sure if those are good....

I use Tripp Lite surge protectors - they have a large product line and in my opinion have solid specs and a good design and technology.

Furman is another brand that I have read is good.

I suggest reading the article on the wirecutter website, where they have tested surge protectors and make their recommendations. I've found their articles to be reliable.

I have not heard of Zero Surge. I took a quick look at the website and it looks legitimate. Nevertheless I would look for independent reviews before purchasing. No disrespect to someone who is promoting their own companies products, but I would not rely solely on that.

One thing for sure, there are many garbage surge protector and power strips on the market, be very cautious in what you purchase. Lots of the products on Amazon are really bad quality and won't protect your equipment. A good quality surge protector is not cheap but it is worthwhile protection.

Edit: The wirecutter review of surge protectors did include mention of Zero Surge. They concluded that the Furman model was preferable. Read the entire article to understand how they evaluated the various surge protectors that were tested.
