Best time to sell iphone4S when upgrading?

I am looking for some experience from other iphone users.
When is the best time to sell my iphone 4S when upgrading to iphone5 and be able to get as much as I can for it?
Also how much should I ask in £ for an iphone4S 16GB with applecare included, the phone is in as new condition.

I always sell after I have the new model in hand, and I haven't noticed too much lost value in that practice. I've heard others recommend selling it once an Apple media event is announced, however.

Also, if you're on AT&T, and once you get the newer phone, your older phone will be off contract; so I think you can probably get it unlocked and increase its value.

Following sites like this, it's easy to get a good idea of when the next iPhone will be announced. Sell your a week or two before then.

As for prices, just check what the going rate seems to be on eBay and Craigslist and price yours accordingly.

Sell it before the iPhone 5 is released.. Otherwise value goes to hell after iPhone 5 is out.
