If you have an Intel based Mac, the most complete solution might be to install Windows via Boot Camp and run one the Windows translator packages by Systran or others, as I am not seeing any viable similar packages for Macs with some searching unfortunately.

I'm a student, and i use Boot Camp for translaters.

BUT! also the Google Translate is very handy :)

well... the mac widget is good for 1 paragraph! no more... so the google translator is really good, and well install systran on winshit... with parallels for coherence mode usage.

thanks! guys

You could set up Fluid to make an app from the Google Translator, that would keep it available, unless you plan on being offline ...

^ or you could download Safari 4 Developer Preview (its a free download) and use the web app feature. or the simplest way is the OS X widget, translation. It's installed by default in the dashboard. bootcamp is a little bit too much just for translation services.
