I'm still deciding on whether to go with a folio style case like the Book Book Case from twelvesouth or keep it extremely minimal with an ultra thin case that's clear or semi-clear.

I have narrowed it down to the ultra thin cases from totallee. I am really digging the transparent smoke case, which complements the space gray iPhone extremely well, and the case is clean with no logos at all. Does anyone know of any others that are better than this case that could offer a little bit more protection without making the phone too bulky?

We bought a couple of clear cases from Amazon.

I received the ESR cases this week in clear and dark. The bottom lip is crap - wavy and just poor quality.

I'm thinking that the matte version is less slippery and have better grip.
Totallee has a soft clear which has better grip. The matte ones actually seem slippery to me.

I have ordered Tozo Ultra Thin in frosted black and another in white frost next to iPhone X (I think that was the name). Also ordered Totallee soft clear.

The ESR case I have for my iPhone X is fine. That said I've not yet opened the box for my Xs Max case but I have two other cases already plus a glass "back" also from ESR coming tomorrow. I may actually try the glass back which comes with a bumper and see how that is. If it's not good I'll take it off and use one of the cases. The main reason for wanting to use the glass back is to reduce bulk as phone is already pretty big.

Has anyone received their thin cases with speaker hole cutouts that actually match the Max?

I received a Belland TPU case that would be perfect if not for the extra speaker holes on the bottom. I contacted the company and they did say that they would be making the corrected version in a couple of weeks and will send me a new updated one.

I just don’t want to order cases that were made in advance of the actual phone and don’t really line up.

It does appear that Totallee shows the new speaker hole layout on their website. I love to see some that are correct.

It appears many cases were produced before the final design spec was revealed by Apple so many are wrong

Those frosted cases are the thinnest but don't buy from a popular brand. They sell them like $20+ where you can find them for less than $5 in Chinese sites, just like I did.

I ordered 2 ultra-thin cases from Totallee, Clear soft and Frosted Black! I can't wait to get them.

Hadn’t received the replacement case yet and I returned my Max yesterday as Apple couldn’t fix the connectivity issues. So I emailed Totallee and asked for a refund instead.

Ah ok, I just ordered from Totalee a day ago and they've already shipped my clear Max case. I wonder if I will have the newer version of the case or not?

Just got my replacement from Totalee and it's a lot better. It has the correct holes for the speaker and microphone at the bottom and the fit feels much more precise around the side and volume buttons.

I have a replacement on the way, feeling optimistic now. Thanks Tmelon.

(I ordered two cases originally but feel they've probably only sent one replacement).

My updated Totallees arrived today (they sent two:)) and it's great!

Make sure you install bottom first to line up the holes as it's a tight fit and hard to manoeuvre once on.

Definitely my fave case at the moment, you can hardly tell there is a case on.
