I have a iPhone 6 plus 128 gb I purchased on release day and I am looking to upgrade.

The only issue I have is the Touch IC issue which cause flickering and not responsive touch screen at times. It seems to be a common issue with the 6 plus phones.

I want to get as much money for the phone as possible.

Would it be best for me to trade it in at Apple when new phone arrives or other there other options?

I want to buy the new iPhone 7 so I am not locked to one carrier.

I looking to try out T Mobile in my area and dont want to be locked into one carrier if the service isnt good enough.

You'll likely do better by selling your 6+ privately or on a site such as Swappa. Apple will not give you as much for the trade in. You can try out T-Mobile easily enough as they do not have contracts.
