Recently got a retina Macbook Pro, great machine.

According to the specs the USB ports are 3s and "up to 5 Gbps." Anyone do any research, or can definitively say, which portable USB 3 flash drive is the best, where "best" means fastest read/write times for transferring data?

Also, I can't imagine that 5 Gbps Apple touts for the MBPro port is for a portable flash drive, that seems impossibly fast for a puny storage device powered via the port.

Anyway, looking for the best/fastest USB 3 portable flash, price irrelevant. Thank you.

The 5 Gbit/s is theoretical, I don't think there's too many devices that can take advantage of it

I used one of these comparison reviews when deciding on a USB 3 flash drive.
I got the Data Traveler Ultimate G3 model from this selection, as it offered good USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 speeds, enough to copy at HDD speeds via USB 3.0 and enough to almost saturate the USB 2.0 bus.
