best usb hub for macbook pro?

on my pc i had a lot of problem with simple non-powered usb hubs.

there is a known usb hub that you can recommend to work with hard drives, iphones and all that stuff that need a reliable connection?

I'm partial to my TARDIS; I am a massive whovian so when the chance came to get one I grabbed it. Has worked great and any troubles are fixed with of course an always trusty sonic screwdriver

It's possible the best USB hub I've found for the MacBook Pro in terms of the form factor. The only downside is the USB 2.0 support only. But my current MBP is the Mid-2010 model, so that's not a problem for me.
