Best USB video capture box?

Hi all.

I'm starting the unoriginal project of backing up my aging VHS tapes to DVD. I'm in need of a video breakout box, but I'm having a hard time finding reliable reviews of each one. I'd like to spend less than $200, but I don't want to sacrifice quality and will raise my limit if need be.

I see the $300 ones in the apple store... are these really the best choice?
