I just figured out the best use for iPad FaceTime...

Calling your iPad when you don't remember where in the house you left it!

But it won't automatically answer :p

Like someone else said, use the free Find my iPad service in this scenario. Even though the location will probably just show you that it's in your house, you can set it to make a beeping noise so that you can find it. :)

Yeah its hard to find my iPad in the 50 room mansion

I guess I'm just more forgetful than you. I managed to misplace it in my 2 bedroom apartment. I was in a hurry and set it somewhere I normally wouldn't (on top of my entertainment system). Calling it for FaceTime made it ring like a phone and I found it no problem.

Snarky comments not needed (though I guess I should grow to expect them)

Calling via FaceTime only works if you have the volume turned up. The Find my iPhone/iPad system will cause it to ring even if it's set to silent. :)

Rig up a great baby monitor system iPhone in the baby room, iPad in your room, though it's more expensive than most video capable baby monitors.
