Hello everyone.
I need your help to choose a used iphone. The budget is around $350 (or €350). I was looking at the iphone SE 2022 (€249) and iphone 13 (€389) in that range. Do you reckon they are the best option? What's your suggestion?

iPhone 11 if you prefer LCD screen (arguably better for eyes)

iPhone 11-12 Pro/Max with OLED screen and better camera capabilities

iPhone 13 Mini is still good and the smallest one out there

I’d gotten iPhone 11 myself for all that matters

In your price range SE3 or 13 Mini will be my choice. However, if you plan to keep your phone for many years, you should also consider saving a bit more and get the new SE4 when it comes out.

Is there a possibility you could extend you budget to purchase a used iphone 14? That would be my first choice.

If a used 14 is out of your price range, then a used 13 is my next choice. An iphone 13 should get 3 years of software updates (potentially 4 depending on how generous Apple are).

A SE2022 is another good option (it has the same A series processor as the 13), but the SE2022 has a smaller battery (ie you will get a few hours less use on the Se2022 vs the iphone 13) and uses touch ID (instead of faceid which is used in the iphone 13).

Between the iphone 12Pro and the iphone 13, which one is better?
In my opinion the 13 is better.

The 13 has better battery life compared to 12, though the 12 pro has an extra camera lens...so if taking photos on your phone is important you might want to consider the 12.

The 13 line ironed out all the kinks in the 12s which boil down to inefficient processors sucking the batteries dry. A raw iPhone 13 fitted with a new battery will outlast almost everything before or since. Easily Apple's best S-year models. The zoom camera on the 12 Pro is 2x and barely worth the few steps closer to a subject you could always take.

The best value 2nd hand iPhone you can buy is the 13, full stop.

While this will be cast as sacrilege by the faithful, "low budget" & Apple anything are no longer great pairings. Buying an old phone just gets you to "long in tooth"/"phone seems slow now" iPhone much sooner than the usual 2-3 years when buying it new (and paying wayyyyyyyy up for it).

Perhaps rethink what you want to be able to do with a smart phone to see if Android could mostly scratch the itches. If so, consider something like the CMB Phone 1 by Nothing, a much newer phone... or maybe 2024's Samsung Galaxy A35. Both are rated quite highly by objective sources and most of the world does just fine with Android phones. Perhaps return to Apple when the budget can be almost no factor at all. All the "copycat" claims (which actually go BOTH ways) mean that good Android phones can do about everything that iPhone can do and- often- then some. For example, BOTH have "off the shelf" expansion options NOT priced at 3X-5X market nor having to be purchased up front... and the CMB has SIM card slot for "budget-friendly" cell service opportunities when traveling vs. forcing only the E-SIM option at generally much higher pricing.

I had gotten myself a new 64GB iPhone SE 3 (2022) during Black Friday in 2023 for less than $130 by taking advantage of a promotion that Straight Talk had w/ Walmart (US). I understand that the deal is long past active, but my premise was to make it point regarding how important it is to bargain hunt during specific time periods in the year or scour websites dedicated to showcasing discounts and promotions so you can become active on them and be in the know.
