Best value to get by until fall updates?

2017 13" with the 256gb is $300 off right now bringing it to 1199.99

This seems like the best route to just get by with a laptop until the fall unfolds.

Then keep it as a portable travel device since I will most likely end up with the 16" or 15".

If you are just trying to get by until the fall, why not go used and outlay as little cash as possible?
