Hey guys, I have a question that just recently crossed my mind. I have the 2012 MacBook Pro that they sold for 4 or 5 years. I upgraded to a 128gb solid state drive and installed 8gb of RAM. I am currently running the latest version of macOS, but I was wondering if an older version would run smoother. I haven't really noticed a difference in performance until I upgraded to High Sierra, and even then it's not that big of a difference.

What's your opinion?

Considering the SSD upgrade it really doesn't matter. The HDD was always the slowest component in that machine.

If you wish to have the latest features, then run the latest OS. Otherwise, pick whichever you felt worked best for you.
