A question for the experts here: what are the max settings the iPhone can handle for the .mp4 files? For example 640x480 1400kbs etc.? Also, which program do you guys use to convert? I'm currently using Main Concept H.264 Converter. It's fast but not very flexible. Thanks guys.

im using ImToo iphone converter. its really fast, and has a fairly small footprint. has a pretty decent amount of option for aspect ratio and resolution, as well as audio quality. all .mp4 though.

something to factor in when converting: take into consideration the source resolution and aspect ratio. also the iphones res and aspect. you dont need 640x480, its a waste.

I use visual hub. I tend to aim for a 480x260 size and between 400 to 500kbps and audio around 70-80kbps AAC. It gives a good file size/quality ratio for me

I use handbrake to rip dvds to iphone friendly and visualhub for the rest. Both programs offer lots of flexibility.

Similar to me... also use VisualHub at 480xwhatever, 400Kbps video / 96Kbps audio. Nice quality for the size.
