Looking to learn Linux within a VM in macOS on top of a MacBook Air M2, I don't have a lot of resources (memory/disk).

Which Virtualization app is the most efficient with CPU, Memory and SSD usage? I have looked at Parallels, UTM/QEMU and Fusion, they all look similar, any recommendation?

Note: It has to be a native Apple Silicon app.

Thanks

Given that UTM is free and offers a range of pre-build images, it’s probably the best way to start. You can choose the amount of memory to be allocated to the virtual machine.

I’ve successfully installed and run Windows 11 ARM in UTM on a basic MacBook Air M1/8GB RAM.
