I'm getting an 11 Pro through Apple's iPhone Update Program on AT&T. What's the best way to activate it, use my previous SIM or turn-on the 11 Pro which will activate the new SIM?

Does it matter which way I activate phone? I think I read that by using previous SIM AT&T won't charge me a new activation fee??

This is a very good question. I'd love to just switch over a SIM if it avoids a $40 activation fee. So asinine

I just turn on the new phone.
If I get charged a fee I ask them to waive it

You are going to get charged the fee either way, best bet it to call At&t to complain, and hope they waive the fee.
