Hi,

I am currently coaching a high school basketball team. For convenience for college coaches who are interested in our student athletes, I generally send them dvds of the players that they are interested in. That process is quite time consuming!

I was wondering if you had any good ideas here...

I am setting up a website for the team, and was thinking of putting up some video of the team. I can imagine though that it may make the site extra slow having these big files playing on the site.

What would be the best way of sharing the video with college coaches?
Could I zip the movie files, and then allow the coaches to download them?

I'd appreciate any of your suggestions!
Thanks!

I second Vimeo... it's excellent, and you can password-protect each video (if you like) to limit access.
Or you can embed the Vimeo videos on your own website quite easily.

Hi,

Thanks so much!

Is there a limit in the file size or duration? Some of the game film can be over an hour each.

Also, instead of just watching the video on the site, is it possible to condense the video file into a smaller downloadable file? What format should it be in?

Thanks so much again!

Also, another concern is that I wouldn't want just anyone watching the game films since they are of high school student athletes.
