I want to make a backup copy of the Snow Leopard distro DVD I purchased.

It apparently is a double sided DVD.

Is the standard DVD recorder that came with my last year's iMac capable of burning such a DVD and if so, which specific blank DVDs do I need?

Also, is it possible to make a bootable copy of the DVD on one of my hard drive?

Thanks!

1) insert your SL retail DVD into your Imac superdrive and make a .DMG file using Disk Utility.

2) burn that .dmg file on Dual Layer DVD (DL +R DVD) to make bootable backup dvd.

PS: In the process of making the .dmg file, if it is mounted , means .dmg file is failed.

So keep checking during the process of making .dmg file
