I have an XP machine running in VMware Fusion 3.1.2 and I want to back it up and then restore it on a different Mac. How do I do this?

Assuming that you have it running from a virtual disk, just copy the disk file over to the other machine.

That's it? That's too easy. VMware will automatically recognize it on the other computer?

Yes. It may ask you if you've moved or copied the file when you attempt to run it. I always click moved.

If you're going to be running the same virtual machine on different machines at the same time and you're using bridged networking you should change the MAC address of the moved virtual machine (it can be done in the advanced section of the Network settings for that virtual machine).
