My daughter is there right now and looking for a way to charge her MacBook Air. She has the 30-watt US brick that came with it. Would it be better to get an adapter or a Singapore power brick?

Depending on the price difference, I'd lean towards the Apple Travel Adapter. It contains most plug types used around the world. I've found that some of the cheap plug converters can fail after being constantly used for a few months. Springing out for something that you know is going to last years and will work if going to various regions around the world is worth it to me.
