Best way to connect Airport Express to ASDL?

Hi folks, I'm thinking I need to upgrade my Wifi, currently we have an iMac, iPhone, 2 iPads, an Apple TV and a wii all trying to access a G ASDL box from O2. Most of the time everything is fine untill I try streaming or moving big files about, then it stuggles.
If I add an Airport extreme am I OK to connect it to my existing box by ethernet and use that, or are there better ASDL options out there? Also am I likely to have any problems using back to my mac or EyeTV?
