Hi

I am completely new to streaming. Meaning we have not streamed video yet. We would like to stream from my iPad Pro to our 32 inch bedroom TV, as a first step. Our TV is ancient. 720p and 1080i.

What is the best and easiest approach?

Apple TV?
Direct Connection via Apple Adapter?

We currrntly stream audio to our stereo via an Airport Express. There are occasional dropouts. Our apartment's construction is concrete, cinderbock and plaster. Wifi may or may not be an issue. We won't know until we try. Running a long Ethernet cable is not possible. Our Verizon router (newest model) is not where the TV is located. This precludes Ethernet.

We are willing to consider both the ATV and the Apple adapter. Which is best?

Thanks.

Your ATV steams on its own thru it's own apps. I subscribe to Netflix and Direct-TV NOW but there are many others. For local stations I have Tablo using with an HD antenna (which is simply another app). My Direct-TV give me a unified group of channels but you can download the channels using their own individual app.

Based on the title, the only reason to stream from you iPad pro is to stream content only on that device using Airplay.

Airport products are old at this point. I had an AirPort Extreme and stopped using it. I strong suggest the netgear X8 router. It's a beast and will meet all your streaming needs.

You are best served buying an Apple TV and new router.

Yes

We have content on the IPad Pro, that we would like to watch on the TV. Should I use the ATV to stream my iPad content to the TV, or am I better served by the lightening digital AV adapter?
