Hi all:)

I've been trying out LaTeX for the past few days, and I'm really liking it so far. The thing is, in order for it to actually be really useful for me, I'd have to have a way of converting .tex to .doc format (for other people to be able to make changes).

Some quick googling showed some techniques involving converting to HTML or RTF first and then to .doc, but I'm not really sure what is the best option. Any ideas?

If you need to exchange documents with Word users, then LaTeX is probably not your best choice of format. That said, LyX does file conversions both ways between LaTeX and RTF. However, it handles conversion of mathematical equations very poorly. For this reason, I strongly recommend that you reconsider.

Oh well, that's a shame... Would LyX manage texts without equations properly?
