Hoping to grab a MBP tomorrow. I have heard stories of them selling out really fast after keynotes before and shipping times slipping far out. From past experience is there a tried and true way of getting one quickly? I'm just planning on hitting refresh till the store comes online again and then purchasing as fast as possible. Any tips?

1) Try to order on Apple Store as fast as you can when the preorder goes live (usually at 8:00 Eastern Time the Friday following the event). Know the exact specs you want beforehand.

2) Try to look for same day pick up in Apple Store the first day where the new MBP are officially released (usually the second Friday following the event)

3) Try 1 and 2 but with third party sellers (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.)

Good luck!

Ah so they won't be available for pre-order tomorrow then? I had thought they might.

Yeah it’s not impossible, last year, the M1 MBP preorders were live after the event, so be sure to listen to the event live tomorrow. I’m not sure if Apple will take preorders immediately after the event, but if not, it will probably be next Friday. We will know for sure tomorrow

You gotta think outside the box:
1. Find someone with a new MBP
2. Punch them in the face
3. Grab laptop
4. Run

Otherwise you’re gonna have to wait.

What will actually happen:
1. Find someone with a new MBP
2. Punch them in the face
3. Get punched in the face back
4. Get arested
5. Stay in hospital
6. Pay huge hospital bill
7. Get criminal record
8. Get back home and order a MBP and wait

I make no guarantees for the effectiveness of my dumb ideas.

I think that Apple's higher than expected prices (especially for the 14in pro) will calm some people down and take care of supply issues 😉

I doubt they will be available in October. The Apple Store suggests November for any kind of MacBook Pro.

The best way to get one right away is to order the base one with 16GB/512GB. Anything beyond that and just be patient.

Oh and make sure your wifi is fast with low latency.

Not interested in being "a pioneer" on this one.

I'll keep using what I have (2015 MBP) until around Black Friday, and see what sales materialize (IF they "materialize").

And pick one up then...

Does the store usually come back online right as the keynote ends or is there a delay? Thanks.
