So my niece spilled Coke all over my keyboard of my 2010MBP back in december, but it didnt stop working so i never thought anything of it. Today it wouldn't turn on. Took it to apple warranty was finished and they said it needed a new logic board which would be 630 including tax and everything. I didnt see the point, and decided to upgrade to the top rMBP :D, but now i'm wondering how can i get my Data from the old MBP, i had a Vertex 3 240GB in it.

Put the old drive in an external drive enclosure and connect it to your MBP.

but the drive is password protected i was assuming that you wouldn't be able to access it? thanks though i'll give this a try
If you know the password, that shouldn't be a problem. If the drive is in good shape, you should even be able to boot from it.

I think password is not required if you don't boot from it, and you can still read the files.
