Best way to get stills from a video?

Hi Guys,

Ive just noticed they have taken the still image function out of imovie 11 so whats the best way of doing it now? Im going to have a few 720p movies that i need stills from too, when i print screen they seem to be a bit blurry..

im not all that good with image editing unfortunately lol

If you right-click on the clip in iMovie, and select Reveal in Finder (or something similar), you will see the original file. Open that file in QuickTime 7 and you can export stills easily.

I'm surprised that you said the "print screen" (I'm assuming Command-Shift-3 or 4) captures were blurry. What source is this? Camcorder? 1080i? Captured at full or half resolution? Screen shots available?

It was a 720p movie.., but id put it through imovie first then mpegstream to convert to wmv to reduce size..

ill try quicktime in future before i convert lol
