I tried this before but I purchased the wrong thing . So if you could tell me how to get my macbook's picture/audio on my TV that would be great. Also would it look as good on my TV. Like when I watch movies will it be the same picture quality as it is on my macbook or worse? Thanks!

Depends what kind of TV you have. Most likely, mini display port to dvi adapter, and then a DVI to HDMI, and an audio cable too.

Depends on your TV's inputs but your best best is

Display port -> DVI/HDMI Adapter -> HDMI Cable -> HDMI

For video

Audio out cable from your MacBook to the audio input of your receiver or TV.

OK for the video you'll need a Mini-display to hdmi adapter http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5311&seq=1&format=2 then an hdmi cable http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024004&p_id=4966&seq=1&format=2 As for the audio i THINK you need an optical toslink cable http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...d=1022901&p_id=1419&seq=1&format=1#largeimage I am not positive on the audio so if someone could correct me on this or comfirm that would be great
