What is the best way to save a local backup copy of every .deb I install through Cydia?

I had been using DebianSaverLaunchDaemon, but it hasn’t worked since Cydia 1.1.12.

This is extremely important to me—there have been many many times when an update to a tweak made things worse for me. The ability to reinstall a previous version of a tweak is a requirement for me.

So what is the best way to make a backup of every .deb I install through Cydia? I would prefer an automatic approach where I don’t have to manually intervene each time—I just want the .deb files saved locally.

Okay I found the way to manually backup deb files, by navigating to /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.saurik.Cydia/ in iFile before Cydia finishes installing a tweak.

I’d like a way to automatically copy deb files to a different location where they won’t automatically be deleted.

Now that Cydia runs as mobile, is it feasible to create a tweak that makes Cydia save a copy of each deb file to another directory?

Just a thought ... You could try PKGBackup.

It has the option to save all your Cydia tweets in .deb form when doing a backup. I don't know if it downloads the original .debs, or just rebuilds them, but it does save them locally.
