karenflower macrumors 6502a Dec 7, 2007 530 0 Feb 28, 2008 #2 You can use Automator to help you with this, for instance: Add the option "Ask for Text", and drag below it "Text to Audio File" (both of these are in the Text section in Automator's Library). This will make an .aiff file for you, which you could then convert to .wav if you want.

It can record the output of your mac to just about any format (extra libraries required). You would then use the speech text to speech capability of MacOSX - see system preference speech...
