I have an iPad 2 that I currently sync with a windows machine. I would like to switch it to a MBP.

Is there a way to keep the songs (same music on both machines), games (saved data too), movies, other app data (uPad and others), etc. When I switch machines?

I'm worried that when I switch I will just end up with a restored iPad.

Thanks for any help.

You need to move your iTunes library from your Windows machine to your Mac. The following article is a bit old, but it should give you the basics.

You should then set iTunes to not automatically sync iPods/iPads/iPhones when connected. The option for that is somewhere in iTunes Preferences.

Then you connect your iPad, right-click on it when it shows up in iTunes, and do a backup.

Then you sync. It might erase everything off the iPad first, but since it's all on your computer, it'll put everything right back on.
