Hello all

I want to start recording some videos of me playing my bass guitar on youtube. I was wondering what is the best way to go about this. I don't have a camcorder, so I will using the camera on my laptop.

The sound is pretty bad if I just record me playing my bass through a regular amp, so I bought an line-in cable so I can record on the laptop.

This is the way I was going to go about it:
Connect my guitar to the mbp, and start recording in both Garage Band and iMovie. Then when I'm done, take the audio from garage band and put it on top of the iMovie recording.

Is that an efficient route to go?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You'll have to test this...

In System Preferences choose the Sound icon and then chose the Input tab. There you can change the input from internal mic to Line In. Try that instead of involving Garage Band.

Actually I suggest you try your idea too to see if there are quality differences.
