I have been using iPhone 4 from more than an year but i still don't know how to properly restore it.

When i face any sluggishness in the phone, i simply restore it in iTunes and when it asks if you want to set it as new iPhone or restore from backup, i often select the latter as if "Set as new iPhone" is chosen, messages, contacts and the app/game data is not copied into the phone.

But if i restore from the backup, i'm sure that some of the jailbreak crap will also be copied again to the phone, nullifying the purpose of restoring the phone to great extent.

So i want to know how the experts like you restore your phone :) What steps do you follow? I'm sure this is going to be hugely helpful to every new iOS user out their :)

^^I know how to use google. Thanks for your help. That was the most useful post on any forum in this world! You gave me a new life man! Thank you! Thanks a lot!
