Alright, this semester for a project we have to model a fuel cell system using Matlab/Simulink. To quote the project director "you will be coding Matlab in your sleep by the end of the semester" so obviously I want to run it the most convenient way possible. I am also not only here for a semester because I am an exchange student for a semester here in Denmark but normal go to school in the states.

Here are my options as I see them

1. Attempt to find a computer lab with it installed. This is assuming there is one (haven't found it) and would require me to be in that room away from my group to work.

2. I can ssh into my home university and run MatLab through X11. Connection are slower (about 100kbs) and not perfectly reliable in my work room.

3. I am provided a free copy of the software....the Windows version only. So I would have to buy and run VPC.

4. There is a Macintosh version for $99 bare bones. I don't know how many or if I need any add ons but each ad on in $60 so if I need any it adds up fast. This would allow me to run native on directly on my machine.

So what would you guys do in this situation? I suppose the oh so tempting solution is to get a MacBook Pro and hope someone firgures out how to install windows on it soon but that is chancy and way to expensive.
