What is the best way to share slideshows I create on my macbook with my non-mac family and friends? I'm an old Windows guy, so my gut instinct is to use a thumb drive, copy the slideshow and dump it on their computer. Is this even possible? If so, how?

To start, did you make them in Powerpoint or Keynote? Windows machines won't be able to do anything with Keynote files, so you'd have to export them to Powerpoint or PDF before you do anything.
As for sharing them, use SlideShare. Forget about computability worries, just upload them and send people the link.
