I have Two external HDD's connected to my iMac,

D1. 500GB firewire Mac OS Extended ( Journaled ) used to clone my iMac , using SuperDuper
with a free space of 457GB .

D2. 320GB USB Mac OS Extended ( Journaled ) used to store photos Etc
with a free space of 20GB

what I would like to do is swap them around and use ( D1 ) for my ever increasing photo collection
and use ( D2 ) for my clone backup

what would be the best way to swap the information around with out loosing any thing ?

Copy D2 to D1, delete the old data of D1 (backup) and clone your iMac onto D2?

Or use Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) to copy D2 to D1, delete D2 and then copy the old D1 to D2, then delete D2?.

CCC lets you do more than superduper, and that for free.

Thanks for that, as D1 is only one partition , and I put D2 onto it, how do I just delete the original clone backup if its all now on one mixed partition ? if you get my meaning :)
