iPad Best way to sync from PC without itunes

I love my ipad but can't really be doing with itunes, I have tried it before but it's not really much to me as the bulk of my files are flac, so when it comes to syncing my music it becomes a real chore. I have used a couple of pieces of non apple software, one being control manger but that seems to have stopped working now. All I want is total control in what I sync and how I do it. Is this possible?
