I'm setting up an old Mac Pro running High Sierra as a remote server at work. What's the best and fastest way for me to download files from it? I'm using TeamViewer to access it but ideally want to use Carbon Copy Cloner on my Mac at home to clone the hard drives on the server back to my Mac at home. I also want to give other people file transfer access to certain directories or drives only, and not to the whole computer. All users are Mac users.

What's the best way to do this? And should I run MacOS Server, if it still exists, instead of regular High Sierra? What about FTP? I've used FileZilla in the past to transfer files from another server, but it looks like FileZilla doesn't have server software for Mac, only the client.
