What is the best way to make the switch? I finally got myself a 13" macbook pro, so excited!!!

About 150-200gb, but dont want to transfer the applications on the pc obviously, so is there a program thatll sort thru the files and only transfer my files but not the applications? Or do i have to go folder by folder?

Migration Assistant.

In a PC -> Mac migrate you have to download a software from Apple, install it on the PC, and it may require a java something if you don't already have it, so u may have to look and install that also. At the end of the day, if you already know the locations of your data on the PC, MA to me more trouble than it's worth.

I like the manual route myself: Put both machines on the LAN, hookup through ethernet for max performance. From Finder Go -> Connect Server "smb://yourpc/c$/" Get the jist? Nothing to install, nothing to pull. You don't have to move all 200GB at once, move them as u need them fine.
