I've just got my new MacPro and want to transfer 6000 photos and 3500 tunes (with coverart) from my G5 iMac.

I've heard that migration assistant from G5 to Intel is a bit buggy.

Any hints as to the best way to do this without pain?

Is it as simple as copying the iTunes library and the iPhoto library then setting the MacPro apps to use the newly copied libraries?

or are there pitfalls?

Thanks for your time.

With iTunes I'd do a consolidation first to make sure all the files are in one folder. Then just transfer the iTunes folder to to the new computer. I'm wishing I'd done that right now actually. I don't use iPhoto too often so I'm not sure about that one.
