Hello everyone,

Before I start, I wanted to make it clear that I searched for a good 30 minutes along with read the first 3 pages of JB post before posting. I know members get really angry when the same question is posted again.

I jailbroke with Jailbreakme.com with my iPhone 4 and haven't updated it since. I've been plagued with the proximity issue and want to upgrade to 4.1. My goal is to keep all my user data (Apps, phone numbers, text messages, etc). Do I upgrade to 4.1 and lose the JB then run greenposion then restore?

What are the steps I should take?

Thanks in advance,
Rick

If I was you I would backup the device in iTunes. Then update to 4.1 using iTunes and Tiny umbrella so to preserve your 01.59.00 baseband (so you can unlock or revert back to 4.0.1 with its original baseband) then jailbreak using limera1n. Let iTunes restore all your date from the backup and put your cydia apps back on. you can backup your cydia apps but I like to put them on fresh.
