Best way to use MBP as a desktop

I am going to buy the 15" MBP, but I will be using it in my home bedroom (which is a studio) most of the time. I will be moving out for a few months here and there.. other than that.. it should be mostly a desktop.

what is the best way of utilizing the battery?
or should i just take the battry out?

u mean put sleep mode when i am not using it as a desktop?
leave it plugged in while as a desktop?

There is no need to take out the battery or even let it sleep. I have my MBP hooked up to a Dell 2007WFP and use a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse and it works great as a desktop. When we go on trips, I unplug and take it with. No sweat.

I have the unibody MBP now, but did this with my SR MBP and after almost 2 years I still had 90% battery capacity left.
