Hello,

Just got a macbook pro core 2 duo. I was wondering what is the best way to use the battery.

1) use the battery until it is down to nothing, then charge it fully again?

2) leave it plugged in when full charge? (i know this is bad for cell phones but does the mac book pro stop charging the battery so battery life will not be leached?)

3) try to continually maintain the battery at 50%.

My main question is, is it bad for the battery, either in terms of chemically or battery life to leave the computer plugged in when the battery is fully charged?

Leave it in plugged in at all times possible. It is intelligent, it will know when it's done charging and not continue trying to charge itself. Also, when you run off the battery, things like the CPU run slower and the display dims (unless you set it not to do so).
