There are a plethora of options available to watch streaming videos from the internet via my MBP on my TV. I have no idea which is the best.

TV is HDMI compatible
Also have a media player with USB and S-Video inputs

Mini DVI to HDMI?
USB-USB?
Mini DVI to S Video?

What's going to give me the best picture on our LCD HD TV?

That depends on your MBP.

The way that I find to be the easiest, as in just plug and go, is DVI-->HDMI for TV, and a Y-Cable for audio. I have the 2007 generation of MBP, so you would need the appropriate cable for your generation.

I use this for movies on iTunes, Quicktime, Hulu, and NBC.com.
