Hi all,

Originally, when I had bought our current mac mini, I was using it and so I just named it after myself. It's exclusively my wife's right now, and I'm planning on moving from Windows to Mac in the next several months. Since the new system will be my name, it'll get confusing to have them both named after me. So I'm looking at renaming the system to my wife's name.

I was told the only way to really do this is wipe it and reinstall everything. Hopefully that's not the case, but I'm OK if it is since she doesn't actually have anything substantial on it yet either.

What's the best way to do this? I'm relatively new to Mac, so I'm not sure what it looks like. The music should be easy since it's just shared off of my PC's iTunes folder along with our movies. And photos I have backed up on Dropbox.

As a side note, we bought Pages off of the App Store. How does that transfer exactly?

Thanks in advance!

You can change the hostname in the Sharing pane of System Preferences.

Anything installed via the App Store can be installed on multiple machines.

Btw: your subject is completely unrelated to your actual questions and is therefore very misleading.

Thanks for the reply - I see now that it's misleading but that's only because I thought I'd have to wipe the drive so I was looking for the best way to do that (since I've never wiped a mac :)
