Hey,

I have a Macbook Pro, iPhone, and soon-to-be iPad, and I want to figure out the best way to work with my email accounts.

At the moment I have my own domain and webhost for email. I have it set up on my laptop as a POP account, and also on my iPhone as a POP account.

I have it set so that emails stay on the server for 30 days or so, so that I can also access them from my iPhone when I am out.

Now that I am thinking about getting an iPad, I am wondering whether this will be the best idea, considering I will be writting more emails on the iPad than I currently do on my iPhone (I barely ever email from my iPhone).

I could do it exactly how I am doing it now, but the issue is that any emails I send from either my laptop or my iPad aren't transferred to the other device. So I could end up with a big mix of sent emails over both iPad and Laptop.

If I set it up via IMAP, this would solve that problem, but then it is storing more things on my webhost. I guess I could find some way (preferably automatic) where it transfers all emails in IMAP from the webhost to my laptop, and then delete them from the IMAP account, but this probably isn't ideal.

What do you think is the best option? Is there another option I have missed?
