Are there any apps that can adjust the white balance for taking hd video? Or am I just better off doing it in post production? What should I use? I have final cut pro and Color, but I have yet to dabble in Color yet, is that my best option though?
 
Have you looked at "almost DSLR" yet? They have a free version to try.

Have you tried starting your shot on something white? Often I have found that auto white-balancing cameras will shoot the whitest whites this way. Even just hovering over a white paper before starting to shoot may cause some auto-adjustment.
