I use logitech performance mx wireless mouse and connect it mbp 13 using the apple multiport adaptor. I do not like this as I would like to have a smaller usb c receiver on the usb c port. Can any recommend a wireless usb c mouse similar to logitech performance mx? thanks.

Third vote for the MX Master 2S. Or better yet, the MX Master 3 was just released and they took a near perfect mouse and made it slightly better by tweaking the scroll wheel and putting a USB C port on the mouse. If i was in the market for a new mouse, i'd be getting that without question.

Nice! The new keyboard looks interesting as well!

I had the MX Master 2S (the best mouse for most people IMO if you can handle the cost) and just upgraded to the MX Master 3. The ergonomics have been modified slightly but it still feels very similar. The biggest upgrade/improvement over the 2S is that the new scrolling is nearly silent where it was pretty loud before on the 2S in an office environment. It also feels really cool to use. Can’t go wrong with either model, the MX Master 3 literally just came out last week though so no sale prices yet.

I will say that there are tons of people (myself included) who refuse to use Bluetooth with Logitech mice. There is something with how Mac OS handles Bluetooth and Logitech mice that doesn’t play nice together. You can look it up and find a lot more info but essentially there are drops every few seconds when using the mice over Bluetooth for a lot of users. It totally ruins the Bluetooth feature for me so I continue to use the Logitech dongle. Unfortunately, they haven’t and probably won’t release a USB-C Nano receiver.

Interesting, I had a similar experience with my first MX Master 2S but while connecting bluetooth to my PC, it was terrible and I was forced to use the receiver. I not used it with my MBP a lot but so far the bluetooth connection has been fine.

..just for clarity, the MX Master 3 has a USB port for charging but the wireless dongle is still USB-A. It has bluetooth as well.

I suspect there may be a fundamental problem here - most USB-A wireless mice today (inc. Logitech) come with those nice, ultra-low profile USB dongles that only stick out about 6mm and can safely be left plugged into a laptop without too muh risk of damage.

if you look at the USB-C wireless mice that are listed on reviews like these:

https://3dinsider.com/usb-c-mouses/
https://windowsreport.com/usb-c-wireless-mouse/

...the "true" USB-C wireless dongles seem to be consistently bigger than the typical low-profile USB-A dongles (now, in some cases the picture may actually be showing a C-to-A adapter, but some of those are actually USB-C wireless dongles) and certainly stick out much further. Frankly, they'd only be a marginal improvement over a USB A dongle in an adapter.

It may be (ask an expert) that USB-C wireless dongles need extra circuitry to manage the USB-C port (I thought USB-C to USB 2.0 without bells and whistles was trivial, but...) so it might be that we're waiting for someone to make an all-in-one USB-C/wireless mouse chip...

Problem is, custom chips are expensive to develop and the market is a niche of people who don't have any USB-A ports - i.e. MacBook owners and pretty much nobody else (who are also blessed with the best trackpads in the business, so probably buy fewer mice)... and then only those who have problems with Bluetooth.

NB: I believe bluetooth problems are sometimes cause by interference from USB 3 devices. It works OK for me, but then I don't have any always-on USB-3 devices.

May have been a PC related issue. Windows BT stacks seem to be trickier to get correct, especially on older Windows systems. Sony and others have had issues with their headphones not working property on some Windows 10 machines. However, the same headphones work fine on phones and Macs.

FWIW my MX Master works fine on my Windows 10 PC (built 10 months ago), MacBook Pro, and iPad Pros.
