Hi all

I've been ripping my CD collection to my iPod using iTunes and using the lossless to AAC workflow script (for CD->iPod) to generate an Apple lossless archive on my iMac and to transfer an AAC 320 kbit equivalent on to my iPod. I've noticed some glitches in gapless playback that I couldn't fix with ripping in iTunes no matter what, so I got XLD and have re-ripped the disk I noticed the problem with, which has removed the glitch - great success!

So I want to re-rip with XLD, copy to iTunes and then use the lossless to AAC workflow script to convert the library to the iPod. The question comes what is the best output format to select in XLD (Apple lossless, AIFF or other) or does it not matter? (I already discovered iTunes doesn't recognise FLAC natively :) )

Many thanks for any help or suggestions with this.

Bill

EDIT: Think the gapless glitches are intrinsic to Apple Lossless format as if I rip to AIFF in iTunes using the same script I don't get the problem.
